Hi, I’m Kim. Welcome to Picture Kitchen Studio!
This is you, right now:
You’re ready for the next phase — It’s exciting and a little scary — but you’re ready to find the illustrator that’s right for you.
You’re looking for an illustrator who will really listen to you, who well understands the picture book process, someone who can bring that special spark; someone who is going to share in your excitement and nurture your work until you go to print.
Someone who will happily walk you through the entire artwork process.
You want an illustrator who can bring your story to life.
You’re looking for an illustrator that understands your project.
That’s where I come in…
I illustrate picture books and do what I believe I was created to do. I find great delight in serving my clients because my client needs good art and the world needs good books.
Where I came from…
After graduating from the Art Institute of Philadelphia I worked for DC Cook Publishing designing children’s curriculum. In time, I found my true passion, what brings me the most fulfillment, and that’s illustrating children’s books for talented people like you.
I believe art is a “calling” and that God bestows his gifts through everyday people.
R.J. Grunwald says it best,“God is busy about his work in the midst of your work whether you realize it or not. The laundry, the spreadsheets, the phone calls, and the cups of coffee are all deeply spiritual because God is at work in the world. He is serving your family, your coworkers, and your community through the work you do. God is at work providing “daily bread” through the work that you do, no matter what that work is.”
I draw from the place of imagination and memories of the past, to bring warmth and delight to each illustration I create.
When I’m not illustrating you can find me reading, bike riding, watching British TV, treasure hunting for, collecting vintage children’s books, and enjoying time spent with my husband, son and Westie at my home in Southern, NJ.
I look forward to working with you!
